Class: Video I
Assignment: Camera Reality (playlist of 11 videos)
Make a 3-5 minute movie that uses the camera as a main character and/or the medium of video as a subject.
Your video should expose the process involved in making the movie, and question: what is real? You can work within already existing techniques like: mock-documentary, a movie inside a movie, surveillance footage, or come up with an idea and form all your own.
Assignment: Fortune Cookie Movie (playlist of 16 videos)
Use a fortune from a fortune cookie to make a 3-4 minute movie.  The fortune should be the catalyst, the inspiration, your starting point.  How you specifically use the fortune and to what degree is up to you.

Class: VIdeo II

Assignment: Memory Movie. (playlist of 5 videos)
Create a movie that plays with the idea of memory. Consider: How do we remember? How do we forget? Have you ever had a conflicting memory where you experience the same event as someone else but you remember it differently? You can use editing techniques like flashback, transition effects, or come up with your own way of depicting a memory.

Assignment: COVIDEO (playlist of 6 videos)
Make a film that deals with themes of dystopia/crisis/disaster. Draw on the experiences you’ve had dealing with the pandemic–directly or indirectly. Your movie could speculate on how this crisis will end, or leave us hanging… You can be autobiographical or draw from secondary sources (family, friends, news) or some combination of both. Remember, just as in life, an audience will accept bleak subject matter as long as there’s at least a little bit of light (humor/love/joy). 2019.
